For couples planning a destination wedding from the U.S. or Europe, Cape Town offers an unbeatable combination of dramatic landscapes, world-class food and wine, rich culture, and luxury venues, all within one region. From coastal cliffs to historic winelands, Cape Town is the perfect place to turn your wedding into a full multi-day experience.
Jamie and Richard did exactly that, hosting an unforgettable wedding week in South Africa that allowed their guests to explore the very best of Cape Town before their celebration even began. Before Jamie and Richard’s wedding celebrations officially began, they treated their guests to an unforgettable multi-day South African adventure, turning their destination wedding into a full cultural experience. As a Cape Town wedding photographer, documenting these moments beyond the wedding day was incredibly special, capturing not just events, but memories made while exploring some of the most iconic locations in Cape Town and the surrounding Winelands.
Planning Tip for International Couples:
Cape Town is ideal for destination weddings thanks to direct international flights, favorable exchange rates, and the ability to host welcome parties, tours, and weddings all in one region.
Cape Town’s Natural Beauty: The Cape Peninsula Tour
The week kicked off with a breathtaking Cape Peninsula tour, introducing guests to the dramatic beauty of the South African coastline. From the sweeping views at Cape Point to the playful charm of the Boulders Beach penguins, the day was filled with awe and wonder. Driving along Chapman’s Peak, one of the most scenic coastal roads in the world, offered jaw-dropping ocean views and endless photo opportunities, setting the tone for an extraordinary wedding week in Cape Town.

World-Class Winelands Within Easy Reach
Day two was dedicated to experiencing the world-renowned Cape Winelands. Guests visited several iconic estates, including Babylonstoren, with its lush gardens and refined elegance, Spice Route for bold flavors and relaxed tastings, Boschendal for its timeless beauty, and Bartinney, known for its stunning vineyard views. Each stop offered a unique glimpse into South Africa’s wine culture, making it a dream day for guests and a photographer’s paradise.

Culture, Color, and City Views in Cape Town
The final day blended city landmarks with vibrant culture. Guests rode to the top of Table Mountain, taking in panoramic views of Cape Town from above. From there, the group explored the colorful streets of the Bo-Kaap neighborhood, rich with history and character. The day concluded with shopping and waterfront views at the V&A Waterfront, offering a relaxed and lively end to the tour.
