Multi-Cultural Vintage Ranch Wedding

Chelsey & Aaron’s wedding was definitely one to remember. I absolutely loved how they included so many personal touches to really make their wedding super special and personalized. Vintage Ranch is a 40 acre vineyard is located three miles from downtown Paso Robles, nestled among beautiful rolling hills and surrounded by vineyards. In fact, you might have seen Vintage Ranch on Netflix! But keep scrolling and I’ll talk more about that later.

Ceremonies at Vintage Ranch are conducted out in the estate vineyard underneath the 300+ year old oak tree. Just look at how beautiful this tree is! Such a beautiful backdrop for your ceremony.

The getting ready cottage at Vintage Ranch is so beautiful and newly renovated. I just love all the white, it made this place a dream to photograph! Oh and look at these cute lavender robes Chelsey bought for her bridesmaids, so pretty!

These two love wine and I loved that during their ceremony, instead of a unity candle or mixing of sand; Chelsey and Aaron opted to mix two red wines for a lovely combo! I’ve never seen that before and I really loved that unique element to their wedding day.

This is my favorite portrait of these two! Did I mention that Chelsey made all of the bouquets and flower arrangements, just look at her bouquet.

Check out all these blue details at their reception. My favorite detail was the mini canvas that Chelsey painted for each guest! She even had some for me to take home, so sweet!

Chelsey and Aaron also had a Ayena Misaf ceremony. This is where the bride and groom are covered with a decorative shawl under which they are given a passage to read from the Quran together followed by a decorated mirror to view themselves for the first time as a married couple. In the past decades, this would have been the first time that the bride and groom would have seen each other’s faces due to their marriage having been arranged. The shawl is then lifted and the bride and groom feed each other “Maaleda” which is an Afghan dessert made from bread crumbs, followed by intertwining their arms and offering each other a sip of a beverage, usually the juice of a fruit.

One of my favorite moments at all weddings is when I get to take my couple out for sunset portraits. They are both way more relaxed and officially married! It’s so nice because they can finally have a quiet moment together and really reflect on the day, it goes by so fast!

When the sun went down is when the party really got started and we hit the dance floor. I love this shot of the barn with the string lights, it’s one of the great benefits to having an outdoor reception.

Vintage ranch is featured on Episode 5 of the Netflix Show called Stay Here. Let me know if you check it out, or if you want to come visit.
